A
multi-instrumentalist and avid UFO researcher, John Ostrosky a.k.a.
John Ostronomy, was introduced to music by his rock guitarist father.
By the time he received KISS "Alive!" on his seventh birthday,
his mission was evident.
At
6, John performed "Wipe-Out" at his first organ recital. He
became a drummer at 8, and by 10, he added both guitar and bass to his
professional repertoire. By 17, he began studies at Berklee College
of Music in Boston. Two weeks later, he took the stage with his childhood
idol, Ace Frehley. After only 3.3 years, John obtained his Bachelor
of Music degree with a concentrate cumulative grade point average of
4.0. Phil Collins, Al Jareau, and Ahmet Ertegun gave him his degree.
John
relocated to New York City where he first appeared live with Slaughter's
Mark Slaughter. He then began collaborating with Beatlemania alumnus,
Mitch Weissman and Mountain bassist, Richie Scarlet, on "Return
of the Comet, A Tribute To Ace Frehley," his first international
release.
In
1998, John debuted Ostronomy's "Disturbing Abduction" on MTV's
Rocks Off where he frequently critiqued videos alongside Kid
Rock, Dicky Barrett (Mighty Mighty Bosstones), Jesse Camp, and Matt
Pinfield. He then made his acting debut in the Basement Jaxx "Red
Alert" video which led to a principal role in the Heineken "Lighter"
spot. John went on to appear in promos for Nick-At-Nite, VH1, and MTV2.
